In addition to mass-produced cars, supercar manufacturers also regularly launch and sell special models with quantities of only a few to a few dozen cars. Lamborghini is the same, since the first launch of the Reventon in 2007, up to now, the Italian supercar manufacturer has launched many models in this form with advanced technologies to prepare for more mass-produced models. Not only that, the price of these models is also in the millions of dollars and the production quantity is only a few dozen cars. Next, the company will review all the models in this segment of Lamborghini.
Lamborghini Sián FKP37
The Sián is the newest model in this segment and also the most produced model. Launched in August 2019, the car will begin to be delivered early next year with a price of more than 3 million USD and a production of up to 63 units. The Sián FKP37 is also the first Lamborghini model equipped with a hybrid drive system with supercapacitors to reduce lag and power loss when shifting gears as well as support the car’s power. The car has a maximum capacity of 807 horsepower with a maximum speed of more than 350 km / h, the Sián only needs 2.8 seconds to reach 100 km / h. In the future, these electrified technologies will be used on the next generation of Aventador.
Lamborghini Centenario / Centenario Roadster
Next, the Centenario and its convertible version are also limited edition models produced in quite large numbers, with 20 Coupes and 20 Roadsters. The car is developed on the platform of the Aventador but has a larger and more aggressive appearance. On this car, Lamborghini equipped its cars with a touch screen for the first time, this equipment was later used on the Huracan EVO and Urus. The Lamborghini Centenario uses a naturally aspirated V2 engine, with a maximum capacity of 770 horsepower and a maximum torque of 690 Nm. The car is sold with a starting price of 1.9 million USD for the coupe and 2.4 million USD for the roadster.
Lamborghini Reventón / Reventón Roadster
As the first models in this segment of Lamborghini, Reventon and Reventon Roadster were launched in 2007 and 2009 respectively. On this model, Lamborghini used new generation carbon fiber for the first time, besides, this is also the first car of the company equipped with LED daytime running lights. The impressive design of the car is the inspiration for the later Aventador. Reventon uses the V12 engine of Murcielago LP640 with a capacity of 650 horsepower, while Reventon Roadster uses the engine from Murcilago LP670-4 SV.
The car is priced at 1.5 million USD for the Coupe version, with 20 units produced. The convertible version of the car is produced with only 10 units, with an initial price of 2.1 million USD.
Lamborghini Sesto Elemento
Launched after the Reventon, the Sesto Elemento is the only model on the list that is not allowed to move legally on the street. Developed on the platform of the Gallardo, the Sesto Elemento is Lamborghini’s lightest model with a dry weight of only 999 kg thanks to being made entirely of carbon fiber and the interior is almost completely stripped of all equipment. On this model, Lamborhgini uses a 5.2-liter V10 engine, maximum capacity of 570 horsepower with a 6-speed E Gear automatic transmission. Only 20 Sesto Elemento cars are produced with 2.92 million USD.
Lamborghini Veneno / Veneno Roadster
These two “few-off” cars are known as the two most expensive Lamborghinis (before the SC18 Alston was launched). This is also the first limited-edition model produced on the Aventador platform. The car has a bold Lamborghini design with sharp cuts, along with an aerodynamic design inspired by LeMans prototype racing cars (LMP1). The Veneno does not bring too much new technology, except for the upgraded electronic screen (later used on the Aventador SV), the manually adjustable spoiler system and the center lock screw. The car uses the Aventador’s V12 engine, but the maximum capacity reaches 750 horsepower, the maximum speed the car can reach is 355 km/h.
The Veneno Coupe was produced in five units, three of which were sold to customers for $4.5 million, one was used for development, and one was put on display at a museum. The Veneno Roadster was produced in nine units, one of which was displayed by Lamborghini, and the remaining eight were sold for $3.67 million.
Lamborghini Gallardo Concept S
This isn’t one of Lamborghini’s “few-of” models, but it’s rare enough to make this list. The Concept S is based on the Gallardo, with the roof cut off and restyled to resemble a barchetta. Lamborghini originally planned to build 100 of them, but only two were built. One is on display at the company’s museum, without an engine, while the other is a complete car, listed for sale for over $1.5 million.
Lamborghini Aventador J
Like the Concept S, the Aventador J was also a barchetta in concept form and only one was produced. This concept car was later sold to a customer in Spain at an undisclosed price. On this version, Lamborghini debuted a new aerodynamic design, which was later applied to the Aventador SV. Along with that, the carbon material (Forged Composite) was also introduced to customers for the first time.
Lamborghini SC18 Alston
Unveiled in late 2018 at an exclusive event, the SC18 Alston is the first road-legal model from the Squadra Corse racing division. It is based on the Aventador platform and features a design inspired by the Huracan Super Trofeo EVO and the “few-off” Centenario. The car was built at the request of a special customer, so its price is up to 7 million USD and it is only sold to this customer. The SC18 Alston is also Lamborghini’s first model in the customer-made segment (similar to Ferrari’s Special Project).
