They Take in Kitten Needing Extra Care, Now Watch Her Enjoy Life Like Other Cats but in Her Unique Way

They took in a kitten needing extra care. Now, they watch her enjoy life like other cats but in her own unique way.

Bottine (a French word that means “boot”) arrived at Chatons Orphelins Montreal, a cat rescue, with her siblings, all seeking a better life. Like some of her littermates, she was born with malformed legs.

Both of her front paws and one hind paw curve inward. “X-rays show that her radius bones are underdeveloped, and she is also bent on one hind leg,” the rescue shared.

From the beginning, Bottine wouldn’t let anything hold her back, determined to do everything other cats could.

With a nurturing foster home, she quickly came out of her shell and sought attention from people. Walking in her own special way, she charmed every volunteer and visitor she met.

Bottine is in no pain and moves around with ease, using her front legs to pull herself forward.

She enjoys snuggling in the crook of her foster mom’s neck, napping on her shoulder, or curling up in the hood of her sweatshirt. “She loves spending time with us, reveling in play.”

“She loves everyone: humans, other cats, dogs, and even bunnies.”

With a mix of mischief and affection, she sticks close to her people while embarking on playful adventures with her feline companions.

“As soon as she sees us, she comes running, eager for cuddles. She follows us everywhere, is very vocal, and doesn’t hesitate to ask for what she wants in the most adorable way.”

“Bottine is curious and bold. Despite her bent legs, she can climb onto the couch, bed, and cat tree all by herself. We often find her napping on the couch cushions. She is very resourceful, and nothing stops her.”

She explores using her elbows for support and has even figured out the stairs. She tackles toys with the same ferocious energy as other kittens.

“She uses a litter tray with a low entrance and pee pads without any trouble. She absolutely loves life.”

Bottine has adapted to her surroundings like a champ. She is never far from her humans, keeping a watchful eye on their daily activities. Sometimes, she perches in her bed like a little otter, taking it all in.

“Every evening, she climbs onto the bed to snuggle with us, purring up a storm. She is incredibly affectionate and loves being close to us at all times.”

Bottine has a heart of gold and shares her love with other animals. She often joins the older cats by the window, keeping them company as they bask in the warm sun. Her sweet and loving nature calms them and makes them feel truly at home.

Bottine has come a long way since her rescue from an uncertain fate. Her legs have strengthened with good food, proper care, and plenty of play.

She’s thriving with people and other animals, keeping them entertained with her playful antics and joyful chatter.

Despite her bent legs, she is always up for anything, her cheerful demeanor never dimmed by her differences.
